Frontiers of Flight Museum

Want to see the actual Apollo 7 command module, the only Moon rock on display in North Texas and a “Huey” helicopter?  Check out the Frontiers of flight Museum at Love Field!  From Leonardo da Vinci to the Wright Brothers and from biplanes to jets and space modules, man has dreamed of flying and has continued to dream of going higher and faster.  The Frontiers of Flight Museum celebrates that dream in a distinctive setting where you will see 20 galleries depicting various eras complete with over 35,000 uniuqe artifacts and 40 air and space vehicles.  For history buffs and people who like to explore, this visual story of air and space flight through time is a must see!

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science

You can spend the day at The Perot Museum of Nature and Science! There is something of interest for every age - from dinosaurs to the universe.  Visitors can feel an earthquake, make their own weather prediction using radar weather data then see if their prediction was right, learn about genetics and test their speed against a cheeta or a NFL quarterback, for example.  Scaverger Hunts, automation and interactive activities and games are in different Halls throughout the museum.  There are also special events and exhibits scheuled throughout the year and there is a cafe opporated by Wolfgang Puck and a Museum Shop available.  You are guaranteed to be amazed!

Dallas Zoo

Feed a giraffe or a Galapagos turtle at the Dallas Zoo!  If you are inclined to do more than just mosey through the zoo and view all the inhabitants, there is plenty more to do.  Check out the Wild Encounters Stage where you can get up close with a variety of animals.  Take in the Keeper Chats which give visitors a chance to learn more about their favorite zoo animals from the zoologists who care for them.  And, go on a treck through the mountains of Rwanda to witness mountain gorillas in their natural habitt in a 360-degree virtual reality film, combined with motion platform seating.  For a more calm experience, try the mini-train or the carousel.  The zoo gift shop is amazing and there are dining and snack stand options throughout the zoo.

The Mesquite Championship Rodeo

You don't have to go to travel all the way to Wyoming to see an exciting rodeo.  Mesquite is called the "Rodeo Capital of Texas" for a reason.  For more than 65 years, the Mesquite Championship Rodeo has entertained families with thrilling rodeo events such as saddle bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping and more. For the little buckaroos, kids can sign up for the Mutton Bustin' event where they try to hang on to a sheep - which is a crowd favorite!  Try a delicious barbecue dinner at the onsite BBQ pavilion and hear the best in two-steppin' music.  Also, concerts follow each rodeo.  Rent a luxury suite for the nght and watch the action-packed events in style!  The rodeo season is June 1st to August 31st.

The Dallas Cowboys Headquarters at The Star

Whether you are a Dallas Cowboys fan or not, you have to admit that they definitely put on a show at The Star in Frisco.  Built around the Dallas Cowboys Headquarters, The Star is a fun dining and shoppping venue.  Visitors can get an inside look at the Headquarters on a small group guided tour where you will see where the Cowboys practice and train.  Do you wonder how they build all those muscles...check out the fitness center.  See fun memorabilia including actual Super Bowl trophys, copies of Super Bowl rings, one of Tom Landry's famous fedoras, all the incarnations of uniforms through the years and more.  While you are at The Star, you can choose between TexMex, Italian, melt-in-your-mouth steaks and more for a meal.

Klyde Warren Park

Interested in being outdoors?  There is no better place than Klyde  Warren Park.  You might join an outdoor yoga class, take your pooch to My Best Friend's Park or just enjoy people watching in the sunshine.  In addition to yoga there are boot camps, tai chi, Zumba, and even ballroom dancing.  At the Children’s Park our youngest visitors (12 and under, please!) will find 18,000 square feet of fun including a 35-foot climbing tower and slide (one of only two in Dallas!), a kid-sized climbing wall, two water features, a tree-top lookout, and a myriad of other play equipment.  And, there are many special events.  There is always something going on!  And, you can try lunch at some of the best food trucks in the city!  Restrooms are available.
